Summary
Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school 。 。 。 again。 And that's the least of his troubles。 Lately， mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy's Greek mythology textbook and into his life。 And worse， he's angered a few of them。 Zeus's master lightning bolt has been stolen， and Percy is the prime suspect。 Now Percy and his friends have just ten days to find and return Zeus's stolen property and bring peace to a warring Mount Olympus。 But to succeed on his quest， Percy will have to do more than catch the true thief: he must come to terms with the father who abandoned him; solve the riddle of the Oracle， which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and unravel a treachery more powerful than the gods themselves。

I picked this up in light of the new series that’s coming out。 I cannot judge it too harshly， seeing that it was meant for a much younger audience， so all I will say is that I would have enjoyed it more had I read it a couple years ago。 I would have appreciated seeing more diversity in the characters。 I look forward to seeing the show！

Percy Jackson is a book about a boy who always gets into loads of trouble and now has to find his identity and place in this world。 I enjoyed this book because it managed to tie Greek mythology into the plot of the novel。 The main character， Percy Jackson， seemed very much like a real， believable character。 Personally， I could relate to Percy and feel what he was feeling throughout the story。 The other characters also seemed believable。 The settings throughout the story were always thoroughly de Percy Jackson is a book about a boy who always gets into loads of trouble and now has to find his identity and place in this world。 I enjoyed this book because it managed to tie Greek mythology into the plot of the novel。 The main character， Percy Jackson， seemed very much like a real， believable character。 Personally， I could relate to Percy and feel what he was feeling throughout the story。 The other characters also seemed believable。 The settings throughout the story were always thoroughly described， including lots of imagery。 This helped me understand what was going on， and it really painted a vivid picture in my mind。 I am a sucker for lots of imagery and vivid details because it helps me to create the scene in my head， almost like a movie。 The story itself was very interesting， and I was almost always pleased with the tempo of the novel。 In my opinion， the beginning of the novel dragged on a bit， but once things started to pick up towards the middle of the book， I was hooked。 The message of the novel was very heartwarming and meaningful also。 To my understanding， the main theme was to trust your friends and always be loyal to them no matter what happens。 I think the author did a spectacular job of illustrating an important lesson in a light-hearted and interesting novel。 My favorite part of the book was when Percy and his classmates were on a field trip， and Percy was framed for doing something to a popular girl in his group。 He then faced many consequences， but I thought it was extremely funny。 I would certainly recommend this book to readers that want to learn a lesson in a fun， educational， and easy way。 I enjoyed just about every part of this book。 。。。more

I can see why everyone got annoyed at me when I said I hadn’t read Percy Jackson…。Why did I wait 17 years to read this？！？ It was really good but definitely aimed at a younger audience so it was quite simple and predictable， but a nice easy read for exam season 😂Definitely going to read all the other books :）
